Ralph M. Franz, 97, of Flatwoods, KY passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 26, 2014 in Oakmont Manor.
He was born to the late Dr. Jess A. and Alice Collins Franz on January 25, 1917 in Russell, KY. Mr. Franz retired from C&O Railroad after 42 years of service as a clerk. Ralph enjoyed tinkering with cars, UK Basketball, spending time with his friends and family but most of all his grandchildren.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers; Howard Franz, Bill Franz, and Gene Franz, two sisters; Hilda Evans, and Helen Duncan.
Left behind to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 64 years Rosalie Jones Franz, one daughter Sandy (Ray) L. Locey of Flatwoods, KY, one son Jess (Pat) A. Franz of Flatwoods, KY, four grandchildren, and three great grandchildren, and many friends and family that will miss him dearly.
A private committal service will be held at Carman Funeral Home.
