Perry Potter, 68, of Smithton, IL, passed away August 8, 2017 in the UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.

Mr. Potter was born April 19, 1949 to the late George and Geneieve Potter in Ashland.

Perry was a member of Boy Scouts of America for over 60 years. He was on the board of the Smithton Senior Center and the Community Garden, a volunteer with the Violence Prevention Center, Belleville, IL, Labor and Industry Museum, a member of the Society of American Military Engineers, a member of UK Alumni, and a past president of the St. Louis UK Alumni.

Surviving is his wife, Wilma Barney Potter of Smithton, IL; two sons, Christopher (Diane) Potter of Ramstein, Germany, and George Potter of Chicago, IL; two grandchildren, Micheal and Jessica Potter of Ramstein, Germany; six brothers and sisters, Helen Potter and Frances Potter of Flatwoods, Joyce (Larry) Averill of West Palm Beach, FL, George R. (Hilary) Potter of San Luis Obispo, CA, Roger (Pamela) Potter of Ashland, and James (Sherry) Potter of Russell; special godson, Robert Gann of HI.

Funeral services will be at 12 pm, Sat., Aug. 12, 2017 at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods.

Friends may call after 10 am Sat. at the Funeral Home.

A graveside services will be at 1 pm Sunday, Aug. 13, 2017 at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Center, Boy Scouts of America, Simon Kenton Council, or the John James Audubon State Park-Picture Restoration Fund.
