Retha Pauline Turner 92, of Raceland passed away Tuesday, Jan 3, 2017 in the Woodland Oaks Nursing Facility.

Mrs. Turner was born Aug. 9, 1924 to the late Frank and Armina Ratliff-Stafford in Wolfpit, KY.

She is preceded in death by her husband James H. Turner and sister Christine Skidmore.

Retha was a former Detail Clerk and Assistant Manager for Sears in Mullens, WV. She was a member of the Advance Memorial United Methodist Church in Flatwoods for over 35 years, and was a member of the church’s Women’s Organization.  When she wasn’t camping she enjoyed knitting and crocheting.

Surviving is her son James (Linda) Turner; Grandchildren Michael (Patricia) Turner and Patricia (Stephen) Mansfield; Great-grandchildren Megan (Wesley) Pritchard, Morgan Mansfield and Christopher Turner. Also surviving are nieces and nephew Patty Trujillo and Randy Campbell, Suzanne Trujillo and Michael (Sharon) Trujillo; Special niece Gail (Bob) Wells.

Funeral services will be Friday, Jan 6, 2017 at Carman Funeral Home beginning at 1:30 pm with Pastor Michael Rice officiating. Entombment will follow in the Rose Hill Burial Park.

Visitation will be 12-1:30 pm at the funeral home the day of the service.
