Charlene A. Townsend 67, of Flatwoods passed away Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017 at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

Mrs. Townsend was born May 26, 1949 in Portland, OR. A daughter of the late Herbert and Vilma Robello-Dailey.

Charlene was a member of the Temple Baptist Church who loved to talk to others about her faith, and never met a stranger. She was an artistic woman who enjoyed quilting, making ceramic pieces, and practicing needle point. Most of all Charlene loved her family and cherished the time spent with them on family vacations. Her grandchildren brought joy to her life that was irreplaceable and she has left a mark on them that they will carry forever.

Surviving is her husband of 40 years and the love of her life, John Townsend; Daughters Amanda Bennett, Kristi (Scott) Sweeney; Son David (Laura) Hill II; Brothers Herb Dailey and Todd Dailey; Sister Laura Dailey; Grandchildren Ryan Hill, Taylor Sweeney, and Isaac Bennett; Charles (Mary) Baker.

Funeral services will be Friday, March 3, 2017 at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods at 11 am with Pastor Jim Pridemore officiating. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park in Huntington.

Visitation will be Thursday, March 2, 2017 from 6-9 pm at the funeral home.
