William O. Christy Jr., 93, of Worthington passed away March 4, 2021 at his residence.
Mr. Christy was born January 27, 1928, in Garrison, to the late William O. Christy Sr. and Marie Riley Christy.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Belle Christy; and three siblings, Garnet Brumfield, June Burriss and Christine Ravencraft.
William was of the Nazarene Faith and attended Wurtland Church of The Nazarene. Mr. Christy enjoyed going to Church when he was able and if he couldn’t be there in person he would watch services on the internet or listen to his audio recorded Bible. He was a family man and loved going to the Little Sandy Camp, fishing and swimming and teaching his children’s friends how to swim. William retired from CSX Railroad as a conductor and was a member of the United Transportation Union. Mr. Christy served his country in the United States Navy during WWII.
He is survived by two sons, William O. (Debbie) Christy III and Reynold (Pam) Christy; one daughter, Mary R. Christy; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild; along with several nieces, nephews, family and friends who will miss him dearly.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to be made in William’s name to your charity of choice.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m., Monday, March 8, 2021 at Carman Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Hill officiating. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be after 10:30 a.m., Monday, at the funeral home.
