William Henry Dye went home to Heaven to reunite with his wife, Jackie on December 11, 2020. He was blessed with a full life of 97 years and 71 years of marriage.
Bill was a Christian and a member of Wurtland Nazarene Church, a church he dearly loved. He loved being outdoors, working in his garage or raising his garden. We all enjoyed the wonderful vegetables every year. Some of his best memories were of fishing on his boat at Greenbo or Grayson Lake with his wife or grandchildren. He loved and was devoted to his family and would do anything to help them. He especially loved being a papaw and a great papaw. He retired from Armco Steel after 30 years of service.
He was preceded in death by: Mother Verdie Bray Dye Tompkins, father Ernest Dye, step father Milford Tompkins, one sister, Edna Reynolds, brother in law Arvid Reynolds, Grandsons Robert Stanley Dye and Robert Christopher Blankenship.
He is survived by two sons, Ron Dye (Brenda) of Russell, KY and Daryl (Cathy) Dye of Flatwoods, KY;
one daughter, Debbie (Rick) Blankenship of Flatwoods, KY.; grandchildren, Bill Dye (Linda) of Arkansas, Brad Blankenship (Tara) of Georgia, Stephanie (Josh) Dawson of Texas, Amber (Billy) Parker of Guam, and Heather O’Neal of Ashland, KY; step grandchildren, Scott (Penny) McIntyre of Ashland, KY and Erica (Charlie) Wilks of Flatwoods, KY; great-grandchildren, Erin Caycee David, Gavin Dye, Zoey Holbrook, Tyson Holbrook, Payton Blankenship, Jack Blankenship, Alexander Dye and Henry O’Neal; and step great-grandchildren, Rylee Joiner, Scout Wilks, Mason McIntyre, Morgan McIntyre and Alex Joiner.
In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to the Wurtland Nazarene Church.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods.
Visitation will be after 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home.
