Whitt Chaffins Jr.

Whitt Chaffins Jr., 79, of Flatwoods, passed away, Aug. 31, 2019 at his residence.

Mr. Chaffins was born Aug. 11, 1940 to the late Whitt and Lila McComas Chaffins Sr.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one brother, Jimmy Chaffins. 

Whitt was of the Baptist Faith. Mr. Chaffins served his country proudly in the United States Air Force. He enjoyed working around his home, remodeling and tending to his flower beds of roses. He was also an avid University of Kentucky fan.

He is survived by his loving wife, Shelia Chaffins; two stepdaughters, Alesia (Paul) Malone and Denise (David) Waggoner; one step son, Bryan (Tina) Pauley; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Gary Chaffins; and sister Lois Riffle; along with a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 5, 2019 at Carman Funeral Home with Willie Duff officiating. Burial will follow at the Kentucky Veteran Cemetery Northeast.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2019 at the funeral home.
