Wesalene Wheeler Barker, 77, of Flatwoods, passed away November 12, 2020 in Kings Daughters Medical Center.
Mrs. Barker was born May 21, 1943, in Ashland to the late Charles Wesley and Laura Evelyn Martin Wheeler.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward Barker; one son, Anthony Charles Barker; three great-grandchildren, Parker, Hunter and Blaire Vogt.
Wesalene was a member of the Tenth and Vine Church of Christ in Ironton where she enjoyed being active in the secret sisters ministry and the church’s food pantry. She was formerly employed by the Russell Independent School System where she was able to share her love for cooking as the cafeteria manager. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling to the Great Smoky Mountains, going out to eat with her family and friends, and listening to the Gaither Vocal Band and Dolly Parton. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family: especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by one son, Bruce (Alicia) Barker; one daughter, Cheryl (Mark) Villinger; grandchildren, Amanda (Jonathan) Vogt, Emily (Lindsey) Perry, Laura Barker, Elizabeth Barker, Emma Barker and Elaina Barker; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Brandon, Evan, Isabella, Katherine, and Savannah Vogt, and Charley Perry.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday November 20, 2020, at Carman Funeral Home.
Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m., Friday November 20, 2020, at the funeral home.
