Tribute

Wanda Lee Caudill, 90, of Russell, KY passed away peacefully on March 26, 2021 at the Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.

Wanda was born November 27, 1930 in Russell, the youngest of 10 children of the late Lindsay and Vada Potter Miller.  She was preceded in death by all her siblings.

She was retired from the Claude Fannin Company where she worked for 30 years.  She enjoyed being active throughout her life, playing on a women’s softball league and bowled for many years on the Aloha League at Blue Ribbon Lanes with her sisters Imogene Kimberlain and Darlene Hayes.  Her biggest pleasure was walking.  Each day when she was working, she would walk around Central Park during her ½ hour lunch break and after retiring she could be seen walking throughout Kenwood, Russell, and Flatwoods where it wasn’t unusual for her to walk 3 to 5 miles at a time.

Wanda was a member of the Bridges Christian Church in Russell and the Flatwoods Lions Club.

She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Donald E Caudill, children Patricia (James) Rice of Catlettsburg, Michael (Toni) Caudill of Gadsden, TN and Gary (Matt Lombardi) Caudill of Peachtree Corners, GA, grandchildren, Andy (Michelle) Rice of Mesa, AZ, Matthew Rice and Jason Rice of Catlettsburg, Lea (Stephen) Hudson of Milan, TN and Connor Caudill of Peachtree Corners, GA, great-grandchildren Damian, Angelina and Samantha Rice of Catlettsburg, Erin Rice of Tempe, AZ, Destiny and Gabriel Hudson of Milan, TN.  Wanda is also survived by many nieces and nephews, 2 nieces that were very special to her, Bonita Pemberton and Sandy Adams both of Flatwoods.

Wanda is preceded in death, in addition to her parents and siblings, by grandson Thomas Caudill and great-granddaughter Alaysia Rice.

Visitation will begin at 11:30am on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at Carman Funeral Home.  Wanda never liked funerals and was adamant there is to be no funeral.  To abide by her wishes, at 1:00pm, time will be devoted to share memories of Wanda followed by a procession to Bellefonte Memorial Gardens for burial.  Attendees who wish to share their memories are more than welcome to.

Due to COVID-19, masks are required and 6-foot social distancing must be maintained during visitation.
