Virginia Meadows

Virginia Meadows, 98, of Russell passed away December 25, 2019 in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.

Virginia was born November 18, 1921 to the late Lawrence and Lula Beard.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Clyde P. Meadows; daughter, Virginia Macky Meadows; sister, Anna Elizabeth Gibson, and brother, Dick Beard.  

Virginia was an avid Kentucky Basketball Fan. She was an active member of the Mead Memorial United Methodist Church. She was a past President of the Russell Central PTA and a past member of the Russell Civic League. She enjoyed painting and crocheting.  

Surviving is her son Clyde W. (Debra J.) Meadows; daughters, Linda K (Mickey) Fosson and Esther (Sissy) (Ed) Shaffer; sister, Carla Faye McClaskey; grandchildren, Doctor Michelle Fosson, Jenny (Scott) Bates, Joe (Marianne) Shaffer, Dalawna (Justin) Kearns, Adare (Matt) Conley; great grandchildren, Grant and Gracie Bates, Sara and Emma Whitt, Amy and Jason Kearns, Stephen, Yazzie and Carla Gibbs; great-great grandchildren Kai and Kasten Gibbs and a host of nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to the Mead Memorial United Methodist Church, 501 Boyd Street Russell, KY 41169.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m Friday December 27, 2019 at Carman Funeral Home followed by graveside services at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens.
