Tasper D. Gollihue Jr.

Tasper D. Gollihue Jr., 73, of Olive Hill, passed away May 21, 2019 at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.

Mr. Gollihue was born June 29, 1945 in Carter County, to the late Tasper and Tina Marie Gollihue Sr.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three grandsons, Cody Gollihue, Justin Damron, and Dustin Damron; two brothers, Gaylord Gollihue Sr. and Eugene Gollihue Sr.; and one sister Tammy Gollihue.

Tasper was a proud veteran of the United States Marines, serving during Vietnam. He was an avid gun collector, and collector of WWII memorabilia. Also Tasper, is a former Mason.

He is survived by two sons, Elliott (Lea Ann) Gollihue, of Ashland and Clinton (Valerie) Gollihue, of Gilbertsville; one daughter Tonya Meyer, of Flatwoods; grandchildren Ellie Gollihue, Matthew Meyer, Hunter Meyer, Gabriel Gollihue, Annabelle Gollihue and Zara Gollihue; one brother, Darrell Gollihue, of Ashland; and two sisters, Connie Toler of Brunswick, GA and JoAnne Gollihue of Ashland.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the TROOPER ISLAND, INC., Kentucky State Police at P. O. Box 473 Albany, KY 42602.

Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m., Friday, May 24, 2019 at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods, with Kyle Vanover officiating. Burial will follow in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m., Friday, at the funeral home.
