Shannon Barrett Seals

Shannon Barrett Seals, 45, of Raceland, KY passed away on February 28th at his home. He was born in Ashland, KY and the son of David and Cheryl Seals.
He attended Raceland High School where he started his love for music under David Baker. Shannon received a Master’s degree in Music Performance from Morehead State University, where he soon became a professional trumpet player. He performed in paragon Ragtime Orchestra, Jenny Wiley Theatre, New Testament Trio, Media Theater for the Arts, Pa, Seaside Theater, Daytona Beach, Fla, and toured with the Broadway Shows for 8 years. He played on Broadway in ‘Jane Eyre’ in New York City.
Shannon had three “Loves” which included playing every summer with Sacred Winds Ensemble, cooking, and his dog Kora. Shannon was very compassionate and worked with The Compassionate Ministries to Safe Harbor and Church Without Walls. He was also a member of the Wurtland Nazarene Church.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; James and Faye Goode, and Hubert and Beatrice Seals. Shannon is survived by his sister Whitney (Todd) Helms, of Murfreesboro, TN, and many friends he met across the United States.
