Samuel Gross, 83, of Flatwoods passed away Friday, March 26, 2021 in King’s Daughters Medical Center.
Mr. Gross was born September 7, 1937 in Hazard, KY, to the late Conley B. Gross Sr. and Mary Magdalene Brock Gross.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Mark Gross; and one brother, Conley Gross Jr.
Sam enjoyed watching sports, horse racing and spending quality time with his grandchildren. He was a graduate of Transylvania University, receiving a bachelor’s degree in business; he was also a member of the Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity, Theta Chapter.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Joan Everitt Gross of Flatwoods; one son, John (Leslie) Gross of Bellefonte; one daughter, Pamela (Chris) Pearson of Louisville; six grandchildren, Christopher Pearson of Austin, TX, Matt (Brittany) Gross of Lexington, Josh (Allison) Gross of Bellefonte, Ben (Kayla) Gross of Louisville, Katie (Duke) Ferguson of Starksville, MS and Brad (Brooklynn) Gross of Nashville, TN; great-grandchildren Lila Gross and Mark John Gross of Lexington, Emerson Gross of Louisville and Charlotte Bella Gross of Bellefonte; sisters, Patricia Hays of Austin, IN and Marcia Whitfill of Austin, IN; brother-in-law, Herbert Everitt of Sellersburg, IN; sister-in-law, Jan Evans of Charlestown, IN; nieces, Lisa Ann of Charlestown, IN and Amanda Evans of Louisville.
Entombment will be at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at Bluegrass Memorial Gardens in Lexington.
