Ronald LeRoy Prescott, 88, of Raceland, KY, went to be with the Lord, Monday, January 4, 2021 in King’s Daughters Medical Center.
Ronald was born November 30, 1932 to the late Alta and Burt Prescott in Clear Lake, Iowa.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by five brothers and sisters, and his daughter, Charlene May Crandall of Waverly, Ohio.
He attended and worked in the Flatwoods Freewill Baptist Church.
He joined the U.S. Navy in 1952 and served 13 ½ years, being stationed in Alaska for one year, in Japan for two years and Washington, D.C. at the Pentagon, as well as several states. He was a First Class Teleman when he met the love of his life, Helen, who was also in the U.S. Navy. They had known each other only six weeks when they were married by the Baptist Chaplain, in a Methodist Church in Arlington, Va. They were married 63 years, 8 ½ months.
Ronald worked in the U.S. Post Office until retirement.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife Helen and two daughters Brenda L. Prescott of Flatwoods, KY, and Annette (Tom) Evans of Kingston, Ohio and five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 8, 2021 at Carman Funeral home in Flatwoods, KY, with Danny Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East.
Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m., Friday, at the funeral home.
