Richard Jason Blevins

Richard Jason Blevins, 50, of Russell, passed away April 17, 2024, at his home.

Mr. Blevins was born September 2, 1973, in Wabash, IN, Bonnie Sue Stevens Blevins and the late George “Rick” Blevins.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ray, and Viola Starr; and his paternal grandparents, George, and Geraldine Blevins.

Jason’s passion came from being a firefighter. He was a member of the Raceland Fire Department and a former member of the Flatwoods Fire Department where he was an original member of the “Boo Crew”. Jason also served he community on the Greenup County Rescue Squad and was a CPR instructor. Also, Jason was an EMT. In his free time, you would find him out on the water fishing. He was a loving husband, father and son that will be missed.

Along with his mother, he is survived by his wife of 27 years, Jana Rakes Blevins; two sons, Jason Alexander Blevins, and Richard Michael Blevins; one daughter, Laney (Dillon) McKinney; one brother, Nathan (Teresa) Blevins; and a host of other close family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Raceland Fire Department. 

Funeral services will be at 7:00 P.M., Monday, April 22, 2024, at the First Baptist Church, Russell, with Pastor Ken Gowin officiating.

Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Monday at the Church.
