Proctor Roman “P.R.” Davis, 98, of Worthington, passed away, Feb. 3, 2020 surrounded by his loving family at home.
Mr. Davis was born April 26, 1921 to the late Proctor and Lou Davis in Nippa, KY.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.
P.R. was a proud Veteran of the United States Army, serving during WWII in the Pacific Theater, including the battles of Pearl Harbor and Iwo Jima. Mr. Davis was of the Baptist faith and was a former minister. He was retired from C&O Railroad as an Electronic Maintainer. He was known as a jack of all trades, excelling in wood working, obtaining certification in heating and air, building muzzle loading rifles and playing guitar. He always found joy in learning something new.
Surviving is his adoring wife of 74 years, Bonnie Jean Colvin Davis; three daughters, Jeannie (Richard) Baker, Carla Ann (Steve) Hunter and Cindy (Rob) Davis Holloway; two grandchildren, Eric and Greg Baker; great-grandchildren, Blake Stevens, Roman, Milei and Marisa Baker; along with a host of other close family and friends.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to FirstLight and to Community Hospice for the wonderful care given to P.R.
In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to the Community Hospice Care Center.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m., Friday, Feb. 7, 2020, at Carman Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Kentucky Veteran Cemetery North East.
Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m., Friday at the funeral home.
