Phyllis J. Short, 75, of South Shore passed away January 3, 2018 at her residence. 

Mrs. Short was born August 12, 1942 in Russell to the late Leslie and Della Keeton.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Gary E. Short Sr.

Phyllis loved to cook, bake, sew, work in her flower garden but most of all she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Left behind to carry on her legacy are two daughters, Melissa (Rodney) Harmon and Regina (Randy) Ferris; two sons, Greg (Linda Stewart) Short and Gary (Edna) Short Jr.; grandchildren, Jennifer Chapman, Crystal Barry, Ashley Taylor, Whitney Carper, April Harmon, Brandi Robbins, Anna Rayburn, Justin Mays, Abby Jewell, Jeremy Short and Elijah Stewart, along with 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Keeton and Robert Keeton; two sisters, Cheryl Minor and Linda Neal.

Funeral services will be at 1 pm, Sunday, January 7, 2017 at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods with Ernie Duty officiating. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be after 11 am, Sunday at the funeral home.
