Phyllis Roe

Phyllis Roe, 91, of Flatwoods, passed away June 8, 2018, in Community Hospice Care Center.

Mrs. Roe was born Sept. 18, 1926, in West Portsmouth, to the late Zachary and Clara Jarrells.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Roe; a daughter, Sandra Roe; a grandson, Dustin Dean; three brothers, Emery, Noble and Kroger; and three sisters, Memphis, Alma and Billie.

Phyllis was a former member of Wurtland Missionary Baptist Church and most recently attended Raceland Christian Church with her family. Her biggest love was being a mom and caring for her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by one daughter, Cindy (Brent) Dean; two sons, Bruce (Cindy) Roe and Ray (Doretta) Roe; five grandchildren, Phillip (Jennifer) Roe, Taylor (Zack) Dickens, Jaedyn Roe, Tyler (Brittany) Dean and Cody (Whitney) Dean; six great-grandchildren, Deakyn, Kaylee, Bailee, William, Blaklei and Brooklyn; two special neighbors, Beth Clayton and Sandra Lemmings; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 11, 2018, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Community Hospice Care Center.
