Paul Robert Myers

April 17, 1939 ~ December 7, 2021 (age 82)


Paul Robert Myers, 82, of Ashland, formerly of Huntington, passed away December 7, 2021 in the Bluegrass Hospice Care. 

Mr. Myers was born April 17, 1939 in Burlington, Vermont, to the late Robert Marshall and Mabel Humphreys Myers. 

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one sister, Mary Glen Watson. 

Paul was a former Economist for the Department of Agriculture, but he held many jobs to always provide for his family, to include real estate agent, school bus driver, facilities manager, and stay-at-home Dad. He also served in the United States Army and the Air National Guard. Paul was a lifelong tinkerer and handyman who enjoyed fixing things around the house and working in his garden. In his younger years he enjoyed coaching his kids in various sports and making the family bacon and eggs on Saturday mornings. He was a man who loved words, encouraging others to advance their language and would often read the dictionary. Paul was defined by his keen sense of humor and sharp wit. He also had a sweet tooth and would not hesitate to indulge in a morning ice cream, an evening donut or an oatmeal cream pie anytime.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Diane Dempf; six children, Paula Myers, Emily Myers, Gregory Myers, Theresa Hammer, Zachary Myers, and Amanda Spears; grandchildren, Abbagail, Sarah, Cole, Zoe, Carlos, Felipe, Lucia, Felix, Reese, Owen, Brocke, Sage and Elijah; great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Stella; and niece, Mary Anne Edwards.

In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to the St. Joseph Catholic School in Huntington, WV, at (304-522-2644) or to the Bluegrass Hospice Care Navigators in Lexington, KY at 

Funeral Mass will be at 1:00 P.M., Monday, December 13, 2021, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Huntington, WV, with Father Dean Borgmeyer officiating.
