Melba Ilene White

 Melba Ilene White, 91, of Ashland, passed away at her home Tuesday, February 18, 2020 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born August 22, 1928 in Paintsville, Ky. She is the daughter of the late Harrison and Flossie Conley. She was a retired manager of JC Penney company, a Kentucky Colonel, a Kentucky State Lions Club President, an avid golfer, and a staunch member of the Republican Party.

She was preceded in death by her late husband, Garrett Noble White; son, Roger Allen White; sisters, Mable Hamilton and Betty Grubb; brother, Harry “Buster” Conley.

She is survived by a daughter, Lynnette (Danny) Magee of Greenville, Ky; 4 grandchildren, Mechelle (Jeff) Massie of Ashland, Renee White (Bryan Franz) of Ashland, Nathaniel Magee of Atlanta, Georgia, Keegan (Jarrod) Chase of Lexington, Ky; 5 great-grandchildren, Cassandra Woolley, Steven “Alex” Woolley, Harper Chase, Cory Massie, and Christopher Massie; 2 sisters, Caretta Conley of Cape Coral, Florida, Phyllis (Robert) Braden of Sarasota, Florida; sister- in-law Zola White of Ashland; multiple nieces and nephews.

Per Melba’s request, Graveside Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 21, 2020 at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens. Friends and family are welcome to attend.
