“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. -Philippians 4:13” This was the favorite Bible verse of Mattellen Danielle “Mattie” Conley, 19 of Flatwoods. She passed away in the early morning hours on Tuesday, September 8, 2015 in Garrison and is now at rest in the presence of her Lord and Savior.
She was born in Huntington, West Virginia on July 7, 1996 to Matthew Conley and Elizabeth Perkins-Conley.
Mattie worked at Checkers Tanning and at Kohl’s in Ashland; she was also a freshman at ACTCS where she was studying to become a nurse. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Russell and was a 2014 graduate of Greenup County High School where she was a varsity cheerleader. Mattie also cheered and played softball at Russell High School. She loved all those activities, however nothing meant more to her than being a mom and spending time with Macie and her family.
She was preceded in death by great grandparents Claude Boyd, Jr., Betty and Harold Conley, Eugene Perkins and Alonzo and Wanda Sergant.
She leaves behind her daughter who will always be her pride and joy, 19 month old Macie Danielle Leadingham of Flatwoods; her parents Elizabeth Perkins-Conley of Flatwoods and Matthew Conley of Flatwoods, her grandparents who has raised her like their own child Billy and Beverly “Nana-Mom” Boyd- Kitchen of Flatwoods, Marty Conley of Westwood, Clifford Perkins of Raceland and Patricia Spears of Wurtland; great grandmothers Gloria Boyd and Virginia Marie Perkins both of Flatwoods; one brother Austin Johnson of Worthington and one sister Carli Rae Conley of Flatwoods; her boyfriend and father of Macie, Dale Leadingham of Greenup as well as many friends all of whom will miss her but hold her memory close to their hearts.
There will be a funeral service held to honor her at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 12 2015 at the First Baptist Church of Russell with Pastor Ken Gowin officiating; burial will follow at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods. Visiting will be after 11:00 am until service time at the church.
The family humbly asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Carman Funeral Home, PO Box 895, Flatwoods, Ky. 41139, to assist them with Mattie’s final expenses.
