Marguerite "Lucy" Rayburn Wood

Marguerite “Lucy” Rayburn Wood, 94 of Lexington, formerly of Russell passed away April 11, 2018.

Mrs. Wood was born May 16, 1923 in Greenup to the late James and Rose Rayburn.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Dulaney Wood; three brothers, David, Bob and Bill Rayburn; one sister, Katheryne Smith.

Lucy was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She was a former member of the Greenup County Library Board, several homemakers and civic organizations. She was known for her bubbly personality and throwing parties for everyone. Lucy was an accomplished artist. 

She is survived by one son, Dulaney (Connie) Wood; two grandchildren, Kerry Worthington (Neil) Lucas and Matthew Dulaney (Mallory) Wood; four great-grandchildren, Benjamin Thomas Lucas, Taylor Dulaney Wood, Elizabeth Marie Lucas and Melissa Miller Wood; two sister-in-laws Joyce Rayburn and Martha Wood and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the Advance Memorial United Methodist Church in Flatwoods with the Reverend Mike Powers officiating.  Burial will follow in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be after Noon, Saturday at the Church.
