Lorene Ellen Jones Bennett

Lorene Ellen Jones Bennett, 91, formerly of Flatwoods KY, passed away peacefully at her home in Ashland, KY on Friday, March 19th, 2021. 

Mrs. Bennett was born on Easter Sunday on March 31st, 1929 in Carter City, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Walt Andrew and Betty Haney Jones.

Mrs. Bennett was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, George William Bennett, two brothers, Willard Ratliff and Edward Ratliff, and her twin sister and best friend Kathleen Jones Powell.

Mrs. Bennett was a 1947 graduate of Russell High School. She became a dedicated housewife, mother and homemaker loved by her family and friends. She also loved the outdoors and was avid animal lover. She was a longtime member of Shawnee Church of God.

Mrs. Bennett is survived by her daughters Victoria E. Bennett of Nicholasville KY, Sandra (Bob) F. Johnson of Ashland KY, Patricia K. Bennett of Ashland KY; a son William (Jacqueline) Edward Bennett of Russell KY; two grandchildren Carrie (Tim) Johnson Pollard and Robert (Dwayn) Bennett Johnson; and four great-grandchildren Christopher Andrew Canada, Audrey Loren Canada, William Thomas Canada, and Willow Bennett Johnson; and a host of extended family and friends that she loved very much.

In lieu of flowers, you may send a thoughtful donation to Shawnee Church of God or Ashland Hospice.

Funeral Services will be at 12:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at Carman Funeral Home with Pastors Jim Stamper and Chris Murphy officiating. Burial will follow in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 10:30 A.M. until the time of service Wednesday, at the funeral home.
