Lois Lorayne Watson Franz

Lois Lorayne Watson Franz, 89, of Russell, KY, passed away Friday, March 12, 2021 surrounded by her family at Community Hospice Care Center.

Ms. Franz was born July 3, 1931 in Ashland, to the late Charles and Minnie Caudill Watson.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Eldon Franz; brothers, Charles Watson, Lawrence Watson; sisters, Peggy Gunter, Kathleen Cochran; special nieces, Pam Gunter and Janice Wells.

Lois was of the Methodist Faith. She enjoyed volunteering her time at the Bellefonte Gift Shop and being on the OLBH Auxiliary Board. She was an avid knitter and enjoyed reading and every type of flower. Most importantly she enjoyed spending time with family and loving on her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Gillum; son, Jeff Franz; grandchildren, Shannon (Ryan) Todd, Allyson Dayne Gillum (Darren Anderson), Katie (Jacob) Holbrook; great-grandchildren, Kaden Todd, Beckett Todd, Gillum Todd and Aubree Holbrook.

In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to the Advance Memorial United Methodist Church 1007 Bellefonte Road Flatwoods, KY 41139.

Funeral Service will be at 2:00 P.M., Friday, March 19, 2021 at Ashland Cemetery Mausoleum with Pastor Don Young officiating. Burial will follow in Ashland Cemetery.
