Lloyd Eugene Potter, 87, of Raceland, passed away Sunday, Aug. 5, 2018, in Kingsbrook Lifecare Center.
Mr. Potter was born June 9, 1931, in Greenup, to the late William and Carrie Garvin Potter.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Phyllis Wylie.
Lloyd was a veteran of the United States Navy during the Korean War and a member of the Steel Workers Union. He retired from Armco, where he was a former Rigger. He enjoyed fishing, watching Nascar, Reds Baseball and University of Kentucky Basketball team; but his greatest joy was being surrounded by his family.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joyce Potter; four daughters, Kimberly (Randy) Perry, Rhonda Potter, Sharon (Lee) Stephens and Judy Jennings; one son, Jeff Picklesimer; four grandchildren, December (Mike) Sark, Angie (Rick) Stevens, Michelle (Darrell) Haney, Shane (Alexa) Durham; six great-grandchildren, Jaycob Daily , Aidryan Spitler, Cody Stevens, Gage Stevens, Mia Reffitt and Abbey Durham; three great-great-grandchildren, Serenity, Nevaeh and Parker; one brother, James (Ruth) Potter; one sister, Helen Maynard; and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services will be at noon Thursday, Aug. 9, 2018, at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2018, at the funeral home.
