January 27, 1941 ~ September 10, 2022 (age 81) 81 Years Old

Tribute

Lilly Louise Adkins, 81, of Raceland passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, September 10, 2022.

Ms. Adkins was born January 27, 1941 in Russell, Ky to the late Arthur and Alice Lorena Akers Bolton.

In addition to her parents, Lilly is preceded in death by a brother, Charles Bolton; sister Ferrell Jean White; triplet sons, Billy, Bobby and Bryan Spainhower; and former husband and father of her children, James T. Spainhower.

Lilly was a sweet, kind woman who was loved by many.  She loved to have fun and was always ready to “hit the road” for the next adventure, a trait she shared with her Mother. She liked playing board and card games. She loved to sing and gather around the piano with family and friends for an impromptu worship session. She could be stubborn at times, a trait she shared with her dad, and her daughters would tease her about giving them the “Papaw face” when she disapproved of something they’d said or done. She hated to have her feet tickled and you did so at your own risk.

The love of her family was only exceeded by her love for her Heavenly Father. He was the love of her life. When she was diagnosed with her illness her go to song was “Praise You in the Storm” by Casting Crowns and that is exactly what she did. She never lost her faith, her joy or her praise.

She is survived by three daughters, Anita (Delynn) Price, Kathy Spainhower and Jamie Crum; grandchildren, Mary (Mike French)Price, Julie (Stephan) Blaine, Luke (Amber) Price, Joshua Rice, Zachery Rice, and Daniel Crum; great-grandchildren, Mason May, Hunter French, Asher Blaine, James Price, Abby Price, Noah Price, Emily Price, Ashton Rice, Tommy Rice, Haylee Rose Rice, Jasmine Crum, Carmen Crum, Kalie Crum, and Bentley Crum; two brothers, David (Belva) Bolton and Clyde (Marie) Bolton.

A celebration of life will be at 1:00 P.M., Friday, September 16, 2022 at Carman Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M., Friday at the funeral home.
