Tribute

Lawana Bradford Bonzo, 78, of Raceland passed away February 9, 2022 in King’s Daughters Medical Center.

Mrs. Bonzo was born June 30, 1943, in Greenup, to the late Reuben and Loma Maddox Bradford.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one son, Charles Richard McKee; three brothers, Lalo, Robert and James Bradford; and one sister, Wenonah Bradford McKenzie.

Lawana was a member of the Flatwoods Faith Assembly of God Church. She retired from the Russell Independent School System as a bus driver after many years; she was also a cosmetologist, doing hair for thousands of women throughout of career. She was an avid University of Kentucky Basketball fan and enjoyed working out on the farm with her husband and taking care of her grandbabies.

Surviving is her husband, Tom Bonzo; two daughters, Mary Beth (Denny) Pickett and Margaret (Keith) Williams; four sons, Reuben (Brenda) McKee, Jeff (Brandi) Bonzo, DT (Sara) Bonzo and Tim Bonzo; grandchildren, Charles McKee, Tiffany Malone, Blake McKee, TJ Pickett, Tawana Elkins, Rebecca Winne, Brian Williams, Kyra Bonzo, DT Bonzo III, Tommy Brown, Megan Cassidy, Ashley Hosford, Mikayla Bonzo and Nathanial Bonzo, Brady Ross, Stephanie Calhoun, Meagan Cook, Luke Bonzo and Hunter Bonzo; 25 great-grandchildren; brother, William Bradford; sister, Lavada Poynter; sister-in-law, Joni Bradford; along with a host of close family and friends who will carry on her legacy.

Funeral services will be at 12:00 P.M., Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at Carman Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Monday, February 14, 2022 at the funeral home.
