Laura Mae Blythe

Laura Mae Blythe, 75, of Flatwoods, formerly of Argillite, passed away April 19, 2023, in Oakmont Manor.

Mrs. Blythe was born November 30, 1947, in Rush, to the late Bryant Moore and Laura Blythe Moore.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Lee Sharp; and one sister, Loretta Smiley.

Laura was a retired teacher for the Ashland Independent School System as well as a retired LPN. She loved to crochet hats, blankets, sew quilts and giving her creations as gifts. She loved to cook and made the best apple butter around. She devoted her life to helping others and was able to calm a baby down like no other.

She is survived by one daughter, Rebecca Sharp; two sons, Charles Sharp and Anthony Lee Sharp; grandchildren, Sean, Leslie, Melissa, Marshall, Laurana, Lillie, Rebekah, Cierra, Matthew Jr. and Alexandria, along with 9 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M., Monday, April 24, 2023, at Carman Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M., Monday, at the funeral home.
