Laura Evans, 74, of Russell passed away Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017 in the Ashland Community Hospice Care Center.

Mrs. Evans was born Aug. 16, 1943 to the late Enoch O’Brien and Marie Taylor O’Brien in Hitchins, KY.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Evans.

Laura enjoyed listening to the Russell First Baptist Church services that were brought to her home. Laura was a retired office administrator of the Internal Revenue Service.  She loved to sew, crochet, talk about politics and was an avid University of Kentucky Basketball fan.

Left behind to cherish her memory is her daughter, Lisa (James) Craft; two sons, Brian (Karen) Evans, and Chris Evans; grandchildren, Sarah Evans, John Evans, and Emilee Price; brothers Enoch (Donna)  O’Brien, and Murrie (Dempsey)  O’Brien.

A celebration of life will be at 1 pm, Thursday, Oct. 5, 2017 at the Russell First Baptist Church.

Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the Church.
