Kendal Curry Ray, 34, of Wurtland passed away Sept. 24, 2019 at her residence.

Mrs. Ray was born Oct. 26, 1984 in Ashland to Alan and Johnda Bowman Curry.

She is preceded in death by her loving grandmother, Wanda Bowman, whom Kendal cared for. She is also preceded by many other loving family members.

Kendal was a former teacher for the Kingston School District in Kingston, NC. She was a 2003 Raceland Worthington High School Graduate, going on to obtain a Bachelors of Education from Morehead State University. Kendal was an avid animal lover; showing and taking care of her horses. She was known for her outgoing personality, never meeting a stranger. She loved caring for her grandmother, Wanda and watching over the elderly. In her free time she enjoyed reading, studying history and the government and volunteering for 4-H. Kendal is a former member of the American Saddlebred Association.

In addition to her parents, Alan and Johnda Curry, she is survived by her husband, Harry Ray; one sister, Carissa (Chris) Brown; one niece, Delaney Brown; aunt, Patty Garvin; and her two dogs and two cats that were her loves.

A public graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday, Sept 30, 2019 at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens.
