Mr. Kelly Collins Jr., 73, of Danleyton, Greenup County, passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2021. Kelly was a wonderful father, husband, and pawpaw, brother, and uncle.

Born July 11, 1947 to the late Kelly Sr. and Blanche (Gillespie) Collins in Greenup, Kentucky. He is survived by his wife Brenda Nolen Collins; son, James K Collins (Kelly); sister, Ruby (Collins) Riffe (Bob); sister-in-law, Linda Nolen Triplett (Jim); brother-in-law, Randy Nolen, step-granddaughter, Ashley Grimes (Isaiah), and step-grandchildren; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Kelly had many interests in life and was an accomplished historian of early American history. He built Kentucky long rifles and attended French and Indian War era events. He taught his family about history, living off the land, and was a pillar in his community. Neighbors always knew that Kelly would be there for them when in need. Kelly raised mountain curs and loved to hunt. He also loved to blacksmith with his son James.
