Katy Bartram

Katy Bartram, 82, of Ironton, Ohio passed away Saturday June, 20, 2020 in the Ashland Community Hospice Care Center surrounded by her loving family.

Katy was born February 27, 1938, in Letcher County, Kentucky to the late Taylor and Myrtle Burke Hopkins.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Norman Bartram; brothers, John henry Hopkins and Ernest Gordon Hopkins.

Katy was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ironton, Ohio. She was a retired school teacher from the Ironton City Schools for many of years. She enjoyed reading, quilt making, caring for her pets, playing games with friends, serving in her church and spending time with family.

Surviving is her daughters, Jana (Tim) Parnell and Leigh (Greg) Worley; grandchildren, T.J. (Taylor) Parnell, Jeffrey (Robin) Parnell, Kara (Kyle) Long, Hannah Worley, Maria Worley; great grandchildren, Tara, Mason, Micah, Nora, Chloe and Lucas; brother, William Cody (Ruth) Hopkins; sister, Mary Jane (Gene) Waggoner.

In lieu of flowers donations are requested to Community Hospice, Lawrence County Animal Shelter or Samaritans Purse.

A Private Service will be held at Carman Funeral Home with Pastor Eric Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.

Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods has been entrusted with the arrangements.
