Johnny Fultz, 93, of Flatwoods, passed away March 8, 2022 in King’s Daughters Medical Center.

Mr. Fultz was born November 12, 1928 in Carter County, to the late Charles and Bertha Nolan Fultz.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Angie Irene Fultz; one son, Brent Fultz; sisters, Bess Wilburn, Irene Greenhill, Jean Greenhill and Rubie Fultz; brothers, Elix, Wayne, Willis, Arville and Arthur Fultz.

Johnny was a member of the Wurtland First Church of The Nazarene since 1957. He was a dedicated member who enjoyed running the sound system. He served his country in the United States Army and stationed in Italy. He retired from Armco Steel as a Breakman. He was an avid University of Kentucky Basketball fan and loved tending to his garden. In his free time he enjoyed working around the house and could fix anything. Johnny was also the former owner of Fultz Tire Sales where the slogan was “we never tire of your business”. In his younger years he also enjoyed going on many family vacations, making apple butter, fishing, and hunting for arrow heads. His greatest love was his wife, Irene, and where she was you would find him.

He is survived by one daughter, Kathy (Kenny) Large; one son, Tony Fultz; one daughter-in-law Angie Fultz, grandchildren; Angela (Patrick) Newcome, Amanda Burnside, Matthew Whitt, Ashley Reed, Allison (Robert) Gilliam, Shannon Large, Morgan (Trevor) Sims, Christian Large, Jason (Lyka) Fultz, Trevor Fultz, Tyler Fultz, Nikki (John) McVey and Cassie (Tristan) Harris; great-grandchildren; Grayce, Johnathan, Alana, Alivia, Aaliyah, Tristen, Mylei, Milo, Mara, L. J., Jasmine and baby Gilliam on the way, along with a host of nieces, nephews and other close family and friends.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Morning Point Assisted Living for the excellent care Johnny received.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Wurtland First Church of The Nazarene.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 P.M., Friday, March 11, 2022 at Carman Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Hill and Kenny Large officiating. Burial will follow in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 11:30 to 1:30, Friday at the funeral home.
