John “JD” Adkins, 53 of Huntington, passed away Feb. 22, 2018 at his residence.

Mr. Adkins was born January 26, 1965 in Ashland to John and Paula Gayle McNeil Adkins.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Orville and Jeanette Adkins; maternal grandparents, Clyde and Clara McNeil.

JD was a Tax Assessor for Cabell County. He was of the Christian Faith, and loved working on computers. He enjoyed listening to music and in his younger years he was a member of a band named Night Fire that preformed at the Paramount Arts Center and the Highway 23 Jamboree.

In addition to his parents John and Gayle he is survived by one sister, Denise Lynn (Thomas) Schuermann; two nieces, Amanda Neace and Jennifer Schuermann.

Funeral Services will be at 1 p.m., Wednesday, February, 28, 2018 at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods. Burial will follow in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be after 11 am, Wednesday at the funeral home.
