John David Bush

John David Bush, 71, of Lloyd, passed away October 12, 2023, in St. Mary’s Hospital.

Mr. Bush was born February 28, 1952, in Ashland, to John Bush and the late Nellie Frasure Bush.

In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his wife, Merle L. Bush.

John was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He has been very active in veteran related services over his lifetime. He is a former Past Department Commander for the State of Kentucky for the American Legion. He was a member of the VFW, as well as the AMVETS. John was also a Kentucky Colonel. He enjoyed picking some bluegrass on his guitar, playing a round of golf with his friends and was also an avid University of Kentucky basketball fan. John was a graduate of Raceland High School and worked for CSX at the Raceland Car Shops for over 30 years.

Surviving is one daughter, Heather (Stephen) Kesner; three grandchildren, Jonathon Skow, Stephen Kesner, III, and Lorelai Kesner; one brother, Roger (Lori) Bush; nephew, Bronson Bush; along with a host of his military brotherhood and other close family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the KVCNE Trust Fund at 100 Veterans Mem Dr. Grayson, KY 41143. 

Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M., Monday, October 16, 2023, at Carman Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Northeast.
