John Paul McClanahan

John Paul McClanahan, 73, of Ashland passed away March 24, 2019 in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.

Mr. McClanahan was born in Raceland, April 25, 1945, to the late John and Annabelle McClanahan.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one sister Karen D. McClanahan.

John was a member of the Mead Memorial United Methodist Church. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and retired as a Job Setter from General Motors. In his spare time his hobbies included working with wood and in the yard; crossword puzzles, and playing with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Judith McClanahan; two daughters, Tracy L. (Richard) Jeffers and Karen A. (Jan Erik Sigtbakken) Peake; three grandchildren, Logan P. Peake, Connor A. Jeffers and Courtney A. Jeffers; two brothers, Joseph E. (Amy) McClanahan and Roger (Celeste) McClanahan; two sisters, Sharon L. (John) Delaney and Johnda McClanahan; along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews that will miss him dearly.

Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m., Friday, March 29, 2019 at the Mead Memorial United Methodist Church in Russell with private interment following the services in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Church.
