Jerry Bailey

Jerry Bailey, 83, of Russell, KY, passed away October 12, 2021 surrounded by her loving family at home.

Mrs. Bailey was born February 9, 1938, in Bluefield, WV, to the late Ed and Doris Skinnel Ratcliffe.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Ratcliffe; and one son-in-law, William C. Holbrook.

Jerry was a former switchboard operator for King’s Daughters Medical Center. She was a member of the Advance Memorial United Methodist Church and in addition volunteered with the Methodist Women’s Group visiting nursing homes and assisting in funerals and mostly providing contagious smiles and positivity to all she met. Jerry enjoyed bird watching and her favorite bird was the cardinal. She collected anything that pictured a cardinal from dishes to statues. She and her husband, Paul, loved being snowbirds and spending the winter in Florida soaking up the sun on the beach.

She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Paul Bailey; one son, Larry (Rebecca) Bailey; two daughters, Sandra Holbrook and Kathy (Anthony) Crance; three grandchildren, Amy Noland, Ashley Fleming and Katelyn Robinson; four great-grandchildren, Kailey Lay, Kylie Caskey, Kamron Tussey and Sawyer Robinson; along with two brothers, James (Helen) Ratcliffe and Frank (Linda) Ratcliffe.

Visitation will be after 1:00 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Carman Funeral Home.
