Janieve Hamilton Lyon

Janieve Hamilton Lyon, 92, of Flatwoods, died April 9, 2018, in Trinity Station Retirement Community.

She was born June 25, 1925, in Keaton, KY, to the late John and Nancy Skaggs Hamilton.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Kerlin Lyon; two brothers Fred and Bill Hamilton; two sisters, Estene Ferguson and Arlene Farley.

Janieve enjoyed being a homemaker. She was the oldest living member of Hoodscreek Freewill Baptist Church. In her spare time she liked to sew and cook but her greatest joy was her family.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda C. Lyon (Darwin) Haynes of Flatwoods, and Barbara J. Lyon (Kenneth) Preston of Flatwoods; one son, Mark K. (Lynn)  Lyon of Allen, TX; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 1 P.M., Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods with Brother Sheldon Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods.

Visitation will be from 12-1 P.M., Thursday, at the funeral home.
