Janet "Jan" Short

Janet Short, 84, of Flatwoods, passed away March 20, 2024, in King’s Daughters Medical Center.

Ms. Short was born September 15, 1939, in Ashland, to the late Audie and Phoebe Smith Adams.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Edward “Gene” Short; four babies in Heaven; siblings, Noah Adams, Jewel Vanhoose and Betty McGuire.

Janet enjoyed the title of domestic engineer and loved to care for those around her. She loved to talk to her friends, family and never met a stranger. She liked traveling in her younger years and taking trips to Kings Island to ride to rollercoasters. Janet also attended the Flatwoods First Pentecostal Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Verna Sharp; sister, Nagatha Kendrick; brother, Ron Adams; nieces and nephews, Chris Kendrick, Jillian (Jason) Banks, Max, Regan, Phoebe and Ellie Banks, Amy (Mike) Littell, Mary (Chris) Dietrich, Katie Cantrall, Andrew Littell, Cameron Littell, Ashley Hitt, and Harley Paholsky; special friends, Missy Williams, Carla Abrams, and Phyllis Clark; along with her fur baby Brandi Jean.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Flatwoods First Pentecostal Church.

Funeral services will be at 11:30 A.M., Saturday, March 23, 2024, at Carman Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10:30 A.M. to 11:30 A.M., Saturday, at the funeral home.
