Janet Gillum

Janet Gillum, 82, of Flatwoods passed away Nov. 8, 2019 in the South Shore Nursing and Rehab Facility.

Mrs. Gillum was born Sept. 15, 1937 in Blaine to the late Chetwood and Emma Wheeler.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters, Irene Thompson, Jess Wheeler, Earl Wheeler, Jeff Wheeler, Elwood Wheeler, Paul Wheeler and Jean Luster.

Janet enjoyed crocheting, quilting, sewing, keeping her home cleaned and fixed up, working in her garden, but most of all she loved being with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Carson Gillum; one daughter, Elaine (Paul Martin) Gillum; son, Jonathan (Holly Coffee) Gillum; grandchildren, Marva (Kevin) Maynard, Adam (Florence) Gumbert, Jonathan (Cheyanne) Gillum Jr. and Michael Gillum; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Willy Jane Jitters.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2019 at Carman Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to the service time, Wednesday at the funeral home.
