James S. Frazier, 92, of Russell, passed away January 2, 2022 in the Community Hospice Care Center.
Mr. Frazier was born December 6, 1929 in Carter City, KY, to the late Christopher C. Frazier and Pearl Hall Frazier.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Juanita Lewis Frazier.
James retired from Ashland Oil, now Marathon. He proudly served his country as an Army Staff Sergeant during the Korean War. He was a member of Flatwoods First Baptist Church. He was known as a jokester and found so much joy in coaching his children and grandchildren in baseball. James also loved working in his church and visiting the local VA to pray with veterans.
He is survived by his children, Mike (Tammy) Frazier, Anita Frazier-Brooks and Ernestine Rogers; grandchildren, Luke (Meredith) Frazier, Samuel (Brooke) Frazier, Leah (Richard) Chicunque and Jacob Brooks; eight great-grandchildren; a very special friend, Brenda Wells; a special nephew, Roger (Mildred) Richardson; and a special niece Sue (Dave) Fultz.
In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Flatwoods First Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Carman Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be after 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M., Thursday at the funeral home.
