Tribute

James “Jim” Frederick Wilson, 73, of Flatwoods, passed away peacefully May 19, 2019 at his residence.

Mr. Wilson was born March 27, 1946, in Ashland, to the late Tom and Mabel McDowell Wilson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Carleen Wilson; and one sister, Connie Thornsberry.

Jim was a proud Veteran of the United State Air Force, where he served during Vietnam. He retired from the US Postal Service as a letter carrier, and was a former mason of the Smith Masonic Lodge in Flatwoods. He enjoyed aviation, building model planes and dabbled in photography.

He is survived by his daughter, Mandy (Jess) Wilson; and three very special cousins, Ron McDowell, David Kersey and Carolyn Bear; a niece Misti Thornsbury Campbell; and a nephew Daniel Thornsbury.

A celebration of life will be at 12:00 p.m., Friday, May 24, 2019 at the Raceland Christian Church, with pastor Jason Lykins officiating. Military services to follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Northeast.

Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m, Friday at the Church.
