James A. "Slug" Scott Jr.

James A. “Slug” Scott Jr., 48, of Raceland, passed away May 22, 2020 at his residence.

Mr. Scott was born May 22, 1972 in Orlando, FL, to Carolyn Scott and the late James A. Scott Sr.

In addition to his father he is preceded in death by one sister, Cheryl Lynn Scott; and a baby brother.

Slug was an employee of the City of Raceland for many years and also served his community as a Firefighter. He was a member of the Raceland American Legion Post 43. In his free time he enjoyed fishing and hanging out with his family and friends.

Along with his mother, he is survived by one brother, John Scott; two sisters Michelle Scott and Kathy Stevens; along with a host of close family and friends.

A viewing by vehicle will be Wednesday, May 27, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m at Carman Funeral Home. We ask that everyone please remain inside your vehicles at all times, keep in line with the flow of traffic and observe directional cues provided by Carman Funeral Home staff.
