Gregory M. Stevens

Gregory M. Stevens, age 73, of Flatwoods, KY passed away in St. Mary's Hospital on Saturday, March 4, 2023. Greg was born in Ashland, KY on February 9, 1950 to Claude and Juanita Stevens.

He was a 1968 graduate of Fairview High School, an Air Force veteran, pilot at Worthington Airport, and retired from AK Steel where he worked as a Lab Tech for more than 35 years. Greg was a member of Shawnee Church of God, Fred M Gross #953 Masonic Lodge of Westwood, KY, El Hasa ShrineTemple in Ashland, KY, Eastern Star Order Mistletoe 144, Local Union #1865, 33 Degree Scottish Right of The Valley of Covington, and Active Supporter of the KFOP and KSP.

Greg is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Elizabeth Stevens of Flatwoods, KY, sons; Aaron Stevens of Flatwoods, KY, Leonard (Gina) Gobel of Ironton, OH, and James (Ellen) Vannoy of Tulsa, OK, daughters; Melissa (Roger) Salyers of Ashland, KY, Heather (Jeromy) McGraw of Kitts Hill, OH, brothers; Leonard (Lisa) Stevens of Flatwoods, KY and Randy Stevens of Ashland, KY, Leonard West of Ironton, OH, sisters; Dorothy (Charles) Rhodes of Bellefonte, KY, Bernice (Vernon) Clark of Ashland, KY, grandkids; Skylar Stevens of Memphis, TN, Kamaryn Gose of Ashland, KY, Derek Gobel of Flatwoods, KY, Cayden Gobel of Ironton, OH, Laiken Gobel of Ironton, OH, Gabriel Salyers of Ashland, KY, Micaela (Brian) Smith of Ashland, KY, Morgan Jenkins of Kitts Hill, OH, Kylee Jenkins of Kitts Hill, OH, Drake Vannoy of Tulsa, OK, Kaiden Vannoy of Tulsa, OK, Kennedy Vannoy of Tulsa, OK, two great grandchildren, a slew of nieces and nephews, a childhood friend Lucy Cales, best friends Bobby May and Shane Cales.

Greg is preceded in death by his parents Claude and Juanita Stevens of Flatwoods, KY, maternal grandparents; Ronald Dingus of Ashland, KY and Lavadus Williams of Flatwoods, KY, paternal grandparents; William Stevens of Westwood, KY and Laura Stevens of Westwood, KY, and sister; Beatrice Frazier of Ashland, KY.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to a Veteran’s charity of your choice.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Carman Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at the funeral home.
