Garry Delano Boyd

Garry Delano Boyd, 79, of Flatwoods passed away September 7, 2020 surrounded by his loving family at his residence.

Mr. Boyd was born March 23, 1941 to the late Jess Boyd Sr. and Irma Childers Boyd.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two siblings, Jess Boyd Jr. and Virginia (Ken) Collins; and two nephews.

Garry served our country proudly in the United States Navy after graduating from Russell High School in 1959. He was a former supervisor for AK Steel and a member of Raceland Christian Church. He was a 32nd degree mason in the Smith Lodge and an El Hasa Shriner.  In his free time you would find him picking on his dulcimer with the Rail City Dulcimer Club.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Sally L. Boyd; one son, Scott (Angie) Boyd; one daughter, Jean Ann (Jon) Webb; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; along with four nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to the Raceland Christian Church Building Fund.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 10, 2020, at Carman Funeral Home with Pastor Jason Lykins officiating.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at the funeral home.
