Frances I. Hamilton Vanderhoof, 84, of Flatwoods, died Wednesday, June 20, 2018, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell.
She was born Sept. 15, 1933, in Greenup County, to the late Mack Hamilton and Mary Riffe Hamilton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest “Gene” Vanderhoof of 63 years; and siblings, Barb Boggs, Charles Hamilton, Leonard Hamilton, Mack Hamilton Jr. and Phillis Hamilton.
She was formerly employed at L&J’s Restaurant. Frances was a member of Advance Memorial United Methodist Church. She loved shopping, clipping coupons, baking and traveling. She was always known as a very charitable person, giving whenever she was able.
Frances is survived by her daughter, Mary Jane (Rick) Johnson; two sons, Larry (Rinda) Vanderhoof and Eddie Joe (Jane) Vanderhoof; four grandchildren, Gabrielle (Kevin) Lees, Nikolas Vanderhoof, Eric (Ashlee) Vanderhoof and Sarah (Thomas) Wells; great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Sylvie; a brother, Virgil Hamilton; and a sister, Janet (Dave) Simpson.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2018, at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods. Burial will be in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 23, 2018, at the funeral home.
