Frances Bates

Frances Bates, 96, of Flatwoods, passed away November 25, 2020 in the St. Mary’s Hospital, in Ironton, Ohio.

Ms. Bates was born December 6, 1923, in Greenup, to the late Lowe and Laural Thomas.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Bates; along with six brothers and sisters.

Frances was a long time member of the Greenup First Baptist Church. She was formerly employed by Value City and loved to stay busy working. In her free time you would find her in the kitchen cooking up a storm.

She is survived by her son, James (Terri) Jones; one granddaughter, Tracy Ratliff; three great-grandchildren, James (Brooke), Rusty and Courtney Ratliff; along with one great-great grandchild, Sophie.

A private celebration of life will be at a later date.
