Tribute

Exculene Moore Hall, 85, of Flatwoods, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 6, 2021 in The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence in Russell.

Ms. Hall was born the third child of 10 on April 4, 1936, in Durbin, KY, to the late Reverend Elmer and Delphia Johnson Moore.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by four brothers, Kenneth Moore, Walden Moore, Roscoe Moore and James Moore.

She married Calvin Dale Hall on April 12, 1955 in Ashland and celebrated 44 years of marriage until his death on August 18, 1999. Exculene was a member of the Worthington Church of The Nazarene.

Exculene was a wonderful and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She had many friends and was loved by everyone who met her. She enjoyed reading, camping, gardening and most of all spending time with family. Exculene loved to travel, you could say when and she was packed up ready to go. Her travels included 14 cruises, visiting 48 states, two mission trips to Belize with her Church in 1996 and 2000, and the Mayan Ruins in Mexico. She enjoyed visiting museums, sea trekking, cave tubing, zip lining, ATV riding on the beach, riding horses in the ocean, jet skiing, catamaran sailing, hiking in the rain forest and more. She was thankful that she was physically able, even in her 80’s, to make these items off her bucket list.

She is survived by two sons, Mike (Freda) Hall and David (Pam) Hall of Flatwoods; four grandchildren, Dustin (Heather) Hall of Flatwoods, Stephen (Stephanie) Hall of Flatwoods, Chris (Leah) Hall of Raceland and Brandy (Matt) Hutchinson of Flatwoods; along with nine great-grandchildren, Grace (Peyton) Hartman, Emilee Hall, Shelby Hall, Marley Hutchinson, Dylan Hall, Paige Hutchinson, Jaycee Hall, Bella Hall and Charlee Hall. She is also survived by five siblings, Buford (Mary) Moore of Memphis, TN, Walter (Lavon) Moore of Waverly, OH, Bertha (Richard) Scowden, Wendell (Joyce) Moore and Gary (Cris) Moore, all of Piketon, OH; as well as a large extended family and many friends.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 10, 2021 at the Worthington Nazarene Church with an hour prior to service time for visitation. Burial will follow in Bellefonte Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Carman Funeral Home.
