Ethel Marie Walker, 77, of Flatwoods, went to be with her Lord Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018, in Appalachian Regional Healthcare in Harlan.
She was born Aug. 27, 1941, in Flatwoods, to the late Ira and Maggie Adkins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, James Earl Walker; two grandsons, James D. Walker and Daniel E. Campbell; one brother, Finess Adkins; and two sisters Alice Curnutte and Juanita Vanhorn.
Ethel was of the Old Regular Baptist Faith and a member of New Mount Olive Church. She loved to quilt, crochet, and can food.
She is survived by one daughter, Dianna (Ricky) Daniels; one son, James (Cora) Walker; seven grandchildren, Dustin Ryan Walker, Quinton (Andrea) Basic, Michael (Corisia) Smith, Tashawna (Michael) Green, Leah (Craig) Saylor, Ricky (Angela) Daniels, and Sarah Daniels; two great-grandchildren, Arabella Lynn Smith and James Daniel Green; several great-stepgrandchildren; and six brothers and sisters, Ruth (William) Boggs, Jeanette Menshouse, Rosie (Dallas) Bledsoe, Ira (Judy) Adkins Jr.; Charles (Kay) Adkins and Maxine (Jim) Sebastian.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2018, at Friendship Church in Flatwoods. Burial will be in Old Friendship Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018, at Carman Funeral Home in Flatwoods. An evening Church service will begin at 6 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
