Eleanor Charles Ison, 90, of Flatwoods, went to be with the Lord and is now running around Heaven after a lifetime of living with Polio, September 15, 2020 in Kings Daughters Medical Center.
Ms. Ison was born in Phelps, KY, February 17, 1930 to the late Drury and Juanita Hatchell Charles.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, C.B. Ison; two brothers, Herbert and Stanley Charles; and one daughter-in-law, Angela Ison.
Eleanor was a longtime member of the First Church of The Nazarene in Flatwoods and served as the Church secretary for many years. In her free time she enjoyed taking the kids and their friends anywhere they needed to go, especially to their sporting events, working in the garden, playing cards and horseshoes. The Lord and her family was the light of her life.
She is survived by two sons, Robert and Charles Rusty Ison; one daughter, Michelle (Timothy) Rogers; nine grandchildren, Brad (Caitlin) Rogers, Brandon (Jessie Carter) Rogers, Amy (Cody) Lore, Isaac Ison, Zach Ison, Evan Ison, Jacob Ison, Josh (Amber) Wills and Christopher Devaney; eight great-grandchildren, Lilly, Savanah, Sammy, Zeke, Jace, Levi, Zane and Charlie; along with a host of other family and friends who will carry on the wonderful legacy she left behind.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, September, 18, 2020 at the Flatwoods First Church of The Nazarene with Roger Bonzo officiating.
Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m., Friday, at the Church.
